Double Celebration in Marina Oyster and Seafood Restaurant

Kare - Kare with Bagoong

I realized just this morning that I wanted you to give alot of my fooody trip. One that I still didn't have time to post with the passed months was regarding the double celeb of yours truly and my mom's birthday.

We celebrated at Marina Seafood Restuarant located in SM Sky Garden in North EDSA.

Crispy Pata!

Although MARINA SEAFOOD is a restaurant which serves authentic Ilonggo specialties in the country, you can still try their Crispy Pata, Lechon Kawali, Grilled Liempo, Pork BBQ, Kare-Kare, Bistek Tagalog, Sizzling Bulalo Steak.

MARINA is synonymous to the freshest oysters in town! From fresh to kinilaw, sizzling, steamed, baked or grilled, diners go nowhere else but to MARINA.

Diners are also crazy about its other bestsellers which include Native Chicken Roasted with Lemongrass, Prawns in Chili Sauce, Grilled Managat (sea bass).

Had wonderful bday celeb then

In 1987, the first MARINA restaurant was born beside a river in Iloilo. Renowned entrepreneurs RP and Roland Gorriceta, their parents Ross and Marina and the whole family conceptualized and put up the business venture with simple things in mind: no frills, no fuss cooked meals that are fresh and healthy and family-oriented service in a relaxing setting that renders a truly native Filipino ambiance. "The restaurant has been named MARINA because it is located near a body of water, it mainly serves seafoods from Iloilo, and it's the name of our mother", RP proudly explains.

With the overwhelming success of the first MARINA, three more outlets in Iloilo and another four in Cebu opened soon after. Thus, in the early 90's, MARINA was already a popular brand in the restaurant industry in the Visayas region.

Bringing MARINA to Manila was inevitable. With the clamor of MARINA's numerous customers from Manila and the encouragement of Gorriceta's family friends, MARINA opened its first Metro Manila branch in Ortigas Center. As expected, it was a huge success that within six months, led to birth of another MARINA in Jupiter Street, Makati City. Todate, MARINA can be seen all around, in SM Mall of Asia, Trinoma Mall Q.C., Market! Market! and Roxas Boulevard in Boom na Boom Complex. Another addition to the several branches of MARINA, the Gorricetas also opened recently a line extension of MARINA which they named Villa Arevalo located in the posh city of Alabang in Alabang Town Center.

My family really enjoyed our double celebration in Marina Seafood.  It may be different from other restaurants that I've been to when it comes to interior design but still I find it okay when my family approved it too..

At Marina Seafood Restaurant SM North EDSA

After a scrumptious dinner, we stroll out of the Mall and find again something to eat.  Hehehe. We haven't tried to taste their desserts because Ate Diane wanted to try us out her fave desserts when going out, the BLIZZARD in Dairy Queen.

That's Ate and me, wearing backpack :)

Blizzard  is a popular Dairy Queen item, which is soft-serve mechanically blended with mix-in ingredients such as sundae toppings and/or pieces of cookies, brownies, or candy. It has been a staple on the menu since its introduction in 1985, a year in which Dairy Queen sold 100 million Blizzards.[15] Popular Blizzard flavors include: Oreo Cookies, mint Oreo, chocolate chip cookie dough, M&M's (Smarties in Canada), Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, Heath bar, and Butterfinger. Seasonal flavors are also available such as October's Pumpkin Pie.[16] It has been argued that Dairy Queen drew its inspiration from the concrete served by the St. Louis based Ted Drewes.[17] On July 26, 2010, Dairy Queen introduced a new "mini" size Blizzard, served in 6 oz. cups.
