As human beings, when we encounter a challenge, we have freedom to choose how to react. Every decision that we make leads us down another road. We will never come to exactly the same crossroads. Itinerary - First and Second Day in Baguio

First step in Baguio

First time to be in the Summer Capital of the Philippines
9am is our departure at the Victory Liner. Ate Diane, Chito and I met up and headed to Araneta, Cubao where we will meet Mavic, Trel and Ronnel at the bus station. Excited kase aside from being first time that we were able to go with a long trip na kaming tatlong sis lang at we were able to meet up Trel, Mavic's BF and the SLR owner. Lets go!!!

Our Haunted Transient...
Ronnel was the one who has contact with Ate Rose, the owner of this nice transient. Before we went to Baguio, Ronnel have shown to me already the picture of our transient through Facebook. It was quite nice, I thought on the pictures. Sana mas maganda in personal, and yes, it was!!!

Our official gala on First Day

The Diplomat Hotel
When we visited Baguio, what took my attention first was the big green gate at the dead -end of the Dominican Road which is a few block from our transient. Beside that gate was an abandoned building na parang hindi na itinuloy ang pag construct. No wonder....

Mines View
When I was a kid, if I saw photos taken from Mines View, I more likely said " I want to be in that place someday". But after I personally saw the place and actually been there, it was more a little disappointing....

The MANSION
On the second day, we went to the one of the most visited houses in Baguio....
Correct, the MANSION HOUSE.
The only thing that I'm pretty sure about the Mansion is, this is the official summer residence of the President of the Philippines and I used to see alot of pictures of it whenever I have projects in school and requires a POSTCARD. Hehehe..

the WRIGHT PARK
Right across the Mansion house, is the Wright Park. Well, I guess this is perfect for pre-nup and for family affairs especially every Sunday. Tourist came by because this park is so attractive by its tall pine trees and some decorative lights beside this pool that makes it more romantic especially at night.

 Botanical Garden
I expected the Botanical Garden in Baguio is the same with those in Laguna which is full of plants variety. Aside from it covers of a wide garden, it also a means of a park for family and a place for retreat for students.

SM Baguio
One common comment I've heard with my friends when I told them that I'll go up to Baguio for vacation, is that "Wag ka pupunta na SM ha" and then I'd ask, why naman.  They just tell me, pupunta ka ng Baguio tapos mag e- SM ka lang pala.....and then I smirk.

 Camp John Hay
In June 1903, Baguio became the Summer Capital of the Philippines.
Later that year, President Theodore Roosevelt reserved an area of 535 acres for military use in the area of what was to become Baguio City. This area was named Camp John Hay in honor of the Secretary of State, John Milton Hay, during the administration of President McKinley and Roosevelt.

 Camp John Hay Manor Hotel
One of the very famous hotel and as far as I know, magara at mahal daw dito.
Dito daw siya nag i- stay when having his OB (official business) or he has conference to attend to in Baguio. U know, he has friend daw there. Oh, Sosyal! May boss ka bang ganyan? hahaha..

Choco- Late De Batirol
Ito na ang last stop namin for this whole day gala. Here, we decided to have a long rest and dinner too. Sa wakas, I can rest my sore feet and have a little pampering.
From the moment I saw the place, I immediately fell in love with its simplicity and yet a very at -home- feeling....

One of the very famous hotel and as far as I know, magara at mahal daw dito.
Dito daw siya nag i- stay when having his OB (official business) or he has conference to attend to in Baguio. U know, he has friend daw there. Oh, Sosyal! May boss ka bang ganyan? hahaha..

So going up in Baguio, I thought to myself that finally I'll get a chance to see what this hotel really have to say.....

After walk after walk after walk from the wide area of Cam John Hay, we decided to go pass through to this hotel, located in CJH Loakan City, Baguio City. It's just after a minute walk at nasa labas ka na ng Manor hotel!

the Manor Hotel

The hotel has a fine architectural design which is very noticeable. It is accented with a country-style architecture that concocts a perfect blend with nature.

Originally built to provide a vacation spot for American soldiers in the early 1900’s, the property was developed into a hotel resort accessible to the general public. Now, the hotel exudes a warm and relaxing ambience, making the hotel a fine getaway from the day-to-day activities in the metropolis.

Dine, Shop and have fun at Mile Hi Center

Before getting to the Manor Hotel, you will see and pass by the Mile Hi Center, a commercial complex to CJH. You will see different stores here. There's a store for Camp souvenir, a duty - free which is known as Camp John Hay Commissary, there are also restos and many more...

Branded resto and boutiques line up along CJH, going Manor Hotel

To make things clear, hindi kami pumasok ha, dumaan lang. Hehehe...Mahal kaya jan! Pero Ate Diane have experienced to stay in this hotel with a friend. According to her, it has more enticing design when you're inside the hotel.

Di kami makaposok, kaya picturan mo nalang ako please =)

 Hotel's outside architectural design

The hotel has more than 180 rooms to accommodate the guests.
Rooms consist of one-bedroom units, studio types and two-bedroom units. Each room provides a magnificent view of tall pine trees and the mountain range of Cordillera.

The Camp John Hay Manor Hotel also offers different amenities to make the guests’ stay worthwhile.
The Manor Restaurant is home to a wide selection of local and international cuisine.

HEY! Happy @ CAMP JOHN HAY, Baguio City

The camp was used as a resort and a vacation center for the troops in the lowlands to renew their health from the rigors of the tropical climate.

Parang totoo lang diba ung tarp.

Through the years, the land that Camp John Hay occupied was tied up in litigation. Finally, after eight years in a U.S. Supreme Court decision, Camp John Hay was officially transferred to the American military on October 7, 1910 for the price of 150,000 pesos.

In 1911, Major General J. Franklin Bell became Commanding General of the Philippine Department. It was during his tenure that most of the pre-war buildings of the camp was accomplished. Nagkaroon na sa mga panahong ito ng mga dormitory (now the Main Club), paved roads, post exchange, hospital (now the Igorot Lodge), warehouse, headquarters and a hydro-electric plant located along Camp 6, Kennon Road.

General Bell personally designed and supervised the construction of an open air amphitheater. This beautiful garden named after him is one of the major tourist attractions in Baguio City today.
An eighteen hole golf course with sand greens was constructed jointly between the Baguio Country Club and Club John Hay.

Nowadays, you will noticed alot of changes and improvement of the CJH. Tourists come and go not because of the climate that only Baguio can give but the totality of recreation and the enjoyment it serves to people.
Try mo mag chin up while you're in the camp and tell me what can you SEE? Diba trees at naglalakihan sila! Bhahaha

I could say that CJH has plenty things to offer.

CJH has Playground and Picnic Areas and what we almost tried the Eco-trail Hiking. (you have to shell out a few hundred peso for the picture, of course).

You can play Paintball and Rappelling, na muntikan na naming sinubukan. Kaso yung rapelling, mababa at maigsi lang. :p
numerous colorful flower

It's like you own the place; you just can do whatever pleases you....

Parang every corner of this camp, has inviting to take an actually pre nup event di ba.  If you just want close to nature theme ha.

Pictures under the sun

It was around 2PM when we reached the camp.  We do alot of pictures and walking under the tall pine trees and under the sun. It was beautiful to be surrounded by a such (so many) pine-laden hills and all....

Abundant of variety of flowering plants

Napakalawak ng camp. Sobra! Geeez!

It's a long walking trail, seems endless for me.

Malayo na ang nilakad namin and in the middle of the journey Trel stumbled and got hurt. While walking in this bridge, his one foot accidentally stepped on and slid inside the dilapidated plank which caused a sort of wound in his right leg. OUCH!

The actual mien of his injured leg and the removed plank

It was around past 4PM when we went back and finally decided to go and passed by the MANOR HOTEL.

Cross over
Pictorial ito...
We seldom stopped at the bridge and pose!

CJH, always has a tranquil atmosphere

I am not so sure if this is the same bridge where Trel got fell.

Nevertheless, it's such a wonderful experience. It was fun, full of adventure, exceptionally cool feeling and creepy..hehe. No, it was a perfect getaway for friends and family with complete leisure and recreational activities to choose from......
