Life is the sum of experiences that we encounter as go through life. Day to day to struggles and triumphs are experienced by all of the world's creatures. As human beings, when we encounter a challenge, we have freedom to choose how to react. Every decision that we make leads us down another road. We will never come to exactly the same crossroads. Every decision the we make has significance. The tiniest choice that is made reverberates throughout the entire universe.

HELLO 2011!!!

Whole Family at "Buena Noche"
Celebrating New Year's Eve is one of the most anticipating events for me, well of course, I'm always excited about my birthday.

On the next couple of days, we will realize how much did we overcome the year that was about to pass. We will realize that there are things that have randomly come and go and there are people who have changed.
2010 was so overwhelming year! I had so much things that was fortunately I was able to accomplish but there are just things that you cannot have nor control if it's not really meant to happen. I remembered when I just started doing this blog for the celebration of my 25th birthday and the things-i-plan-before-turning-26. 2010 have opened alot of opportunities and gave me alooooot of emotions.....

Medyo marami ko ngawa at napuntahan din this year..
Paki check nalang sa Blogroll..hehe.

Goodbye 2010 and thanks for all the opportunities!!! Hello 2011!

LA MESA - ECOPARK

La Mesa Eco Park
Before this year ends, our family decided to wander at La Mesa Ecopark. Situated along Fairview, exactly at the Greater Lagro, Quezon City. La Mesa is perfect for family picnic and bonding. Please take note of the park’s admission fee is only Php 50 for adults and kids 3ft. and up. For QC adult residents, it is only Php 40, Php 20 for students and free admission for senior citizens. Ecopark is an example of good escape without even going up North or South Expressway.  I cannot imagine how do they preserve this park in the middle of a busiest city in the Philippines. (maybe because of the watershed/ reservoir served to million Metro Manila residents).

Family picnic time
From the entrance, you have to walk. You will be welcomed by the large green lushes forest and the sounds of a humming birds and kids who are playing in the swimming pool. Exciting talaga to! Tara na.

There were so much families gathered here also.
We arrived at 10am. The sun shines bright talaga kaya medyo mainit na pero maganda na rin ito kesa sa umulan. First thing that you need to do here is to look for a place where the family could stay and enjoy the view. We are fortunate that we grabbed the airy and nice scenery of the place. Ay, wait asan ang banig????! tsk..tsk..

Ligaw na bulakalak, ang tawag ko dito. hehe
Pork barbeque, Shrimps, Adobo and Pancit
Early lunch while having pictures with the ABS-CBN logo.

There are picnic tables and monoblock chairs that you can rent. So since the no. 1 important thing that we supposed to bring is nakalimutan, we finally rented.  La Mesa Ecopark offers outdoor activities that you, friends, family and loveones can enjoy. There are boat riding, mountain bike trails, horseback riding to name some and for their newest attractions they have now paintball, wall climbing and zipline.

Ecopark is also famous in couples. Why, kase they do shoots pre- nup here. Medyo marami rami sila having a pictorial of their pre -wedding event nang dumating kami. I just noticed, wala lang ;)

Zip line (Kathleen and Mavic)
Wall climbing with ate (left) me (right)
I was so happy when I and ate finished the wall climbing. Mind you, this is our first time and those who have tried it even the guys before have failed to do it! So we really must be so proud. Plus, knowing ako yung nasa side ng mahirap because of the curve by the wall itself. I was almost to give up, I was already panicking that I can hardly pushed myself up and reached the next stone. Huh! Hirap pala.

All I need is a cheer lang pala, which Mavic did and so I tried again pulling myself up with all my strength and I made it.  When you were on top, you feel so relieved and so PROUD!! Oh, going down the wall is much exciting pala. hehehehe.

The Lake
But if you prefer to swim, meron din sila. It is called pool and bath house which is really good kase very close to nature.  The pool entrance fee I think is P60. Pero I heard they have launched a new Olympic Pool also by the ABS-CBN Foundation for the reason of sustaining to save La Mesa Watershed Project. Nice di ba!

Captured large green fields.

Refreshing!
La Mesa Watershed in Quezon City is the primary source of drinking water of about 12 million Metro Manila residents. The property is owned by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), a government agency. La Mesa Watershed is 2700 hectares, 700 hectares of which is the reservoir and 2000 hectares of which is the surrounding forest. This forest is the last remaining one of its size in Metro Manila and serves as its carbon dioxide sink. La Mesa Watershed, therefore, is vital to the city, not only because it is a primary source of drinking water, but also because its forest functions as the lungs of Metro Manila, providing it with clean air.
Due to lack of funds, illegal settling, poaching and logging, La Mesa Watershed came into disrepair and ruin. In 1999, ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. created Bantay Kalikasan (Nature Watch) and, in partnership with the MWSS, undertook the Save La Mesa Watershed Project. The project aimed to rehabilitate, reforest, preserve and protect La Mesa Watershed. The total area that needed reforestation was 1500 hectares. Today, eight years since the project started, only 158 hectares remain to be planted. Bantay Kalikasan’s strategy of actively involving the general public in the project, through its Adopt/Protect-ATree/ Hectare programs, was key to its success.
To sustain the Save La Mesa Watershed Project, Bantay Kalikasan, in partnership with the MWSS and the Q.C. Government, rehabilitated and renovated a 33 hectare public park located right outside the natural boundaries of the watershed and 40 meters below the reservoir. In September 2004, it was renamed La Mesa Ecopark and reopened to the public. All revenues generated by La Mesa Ecopark are utilized for the continuous preservation and protection of La Mesa Watershed. (Source: La Mesa Ecopark website)

Chris and Mitch Wedding

Before 2010 has ended, I fortunately attended a very great friend's wedding

The couple

Mitch and I were friends since high school and we're attending the same church since elementary. So since I've known this girl that far, I was surprised to know that she's getting married to the man that I met only once (first met, during the wedding of our highschool friend also). Initially, Christian was not my type for Mitch.  He's like chickboy though. hehe..

The next meeting with him was when the wedding is being prepared already. So I realized, I was wrong with the first impression. Christian is such a good man and very charming. He used to make jokes and so we laugh.
The Bridal Car

I was thankful because I wasn't only invited but asked to be bridesmaid.  Oh di ba, what can I ask for...
The wedding ceremony led by the pastor ng Lokal of Quiapo is simple and yet very solemn. Maybe I was so excited being a first- time Bridesmaid, when it was my turn to get the ring to the ring bearer, I was lost where to hand-over the groom's wedding ring which I supposedly give first to the bride then she will be the one to give it to the pastor, nevertheless I still able to make it. hoooh!
Texto (The Wedding Ceremony)

Have a blessed family life Mitch and Cris
with maids of honor and groomsmen

Love is God's masterpiece to people.....
"Just happily married".
Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Christian Sy.  We expect cute little babies soon.

We love you guys! :0

How to make a WONDER WOMAN costume.

"OMG! Cosplay? Eh, that's expensive ah.." I blurted out when I found out the theme for our year - end party in the office. Though I was excited, I was kinda problematic...

Before and after transformation

My colleague suggested me to portray Angelina Jolie at the Tomb Raider movie. Since I planned to dress up simple because I do not need to spend too much and yet catchy to judges, I instantly agreed to do it.

But celebrating the (annual) year end party in the office is not just easy. Although we are just less 20 in number, competition is always at its peak.  For me, ranking either second or first place annually was still a pressure. Because I never can tell who will surprisingly be so serious about it to the extent that they're willing to spend. So, after a couple of weeks looking what costume that's best for me and since my friend Jhay was so persistent to change my costume just to win, I finally decided to showcase Wonder Woman, the famous heroine in "Justice League". At first, I decided to hire but change my mind because it was pricey.  So I have to try my coolest homemade costume.

 1.  For my red top tank, it was bought by a nice friend cost P250. It has few beads exactly along the breast line and it has zipper in the middle so I can easily wear and take it off.  WW (Wonder Woman) made from cut outs carton and drawn using pentel pen. I just need to use stapler every time if falls from it. :)

 2.  Cuffs, belt and crown are all made also from cut outs carton, covered by gold metallic foil. I put a small red star in the middle of my crown.

 3. Boots, I have to borrow boots from ate Anne though it was black. I just put white tape over the center of the boots and on the top edges. The cape I am  wearing is also borrowed from Ate Theena.

 4. I borrowed my sister's long brown wig to add a little fancy to the way I look.

 5. Lastly, I have found the perfect color blue shorts to complete my WW costume.  It costs me only P50. I just cut outs white stars and stick into it.

After few weeks of preparation, I got the FIRST PRIZE this year, again!

Words for the year!

I wanna share this new knowledge (if it is..) to you guys, kase alam ko ang iba sa atin, eh somehow ganito rin tulad ko, minsan naive and since there are so many 'new things' for me in 2010, I would like to share some words na ngayon ko lang nalaman ang kahulugan!' (kahiya!).
  • Ped Xing - Wow talaga! Pedestrian Crossing pala ang ibig sabihin nito. Eh, buti nalang nakapagbasa ako ng blog at 'dun ko lang nalaman what it truly means. All this time, I was really asking myself what does Ped Xing means everytime I passes by Divisoria in Manila. I thought it's just a sort of a chinese street name. I never asked anyone about it until I happened to drop by to one of the blog sites w/c I forgot immediately.  I know I know, I'm such a di**! Oh, crap!
  • Bum - sigh first... I am not sure if you'll agree with me, but I think this new word eh ngayon year lang ginamit. Marami ko nababasa sa mga FB comments, saying this word so I checked it for myself and it means, "A homeless person" or "Bottom or butt". (Ah, okay'd).
  • Puke - If you were a Filipino, you know the meaning of this bold word, aren't you? but in the foreign land, it is not what we think of. Although I have an idea, this is the meaning of such word - to vomit. Okay, hindi naman pala lahat ng word ng puke eh bastos!
  • Über - a German word. Uses as preposition or prefix. uber means ultimate, above all, the best, top, something that nothing is better than.  Or it may means very and really.  It also mean like "SUPER". überword.
New found words people are getting used to but I happend to know just recently. ('-'). Until next year!

Impossible but it happened to me!!!!

This has been running for almost a year now and it was a severe HEARTACHE!
Anything is possible. There are things which are impossible. I know I have to live with the possible ones. But something that happened in me which I thought was REALLY impossible and yet, it happened!

For the passed months, I was in a controversy of making different status like I was in desperation, frustration and sometimes, EMO pa daw ako where all my status were like, pain and being hopeless. Pero the truth is, I am in love and I was hurt!!

It was not my first time to dream about a guy and when I woke up, I felt the "crush". But this one was different. When I woke up that particular morning from dreaming, I knew that it wasn't just like that, it was not just a crush that arouse me from that dream but it was something that won't stop there.............

The dream was persistent. Ang panaginip ko na iyon, ay nasundan pa ng ilang panaginip and I started feeling like, this is not like as before. I am in love again and it really hits me.

I let my friends know every inch of the dream details. I am happy that I can able to feel this kind of emotion toward the guy that I've known for so long but never did I even imagine to get across, even build a crush on him and eventually, falling in love with him.

I let the feeling grew deeper. Though I only see him quite often. We just talked if needed and when we see each other, we just shrugged our shoulders just like that. I never wanted him to be aware of what he is to me nor I wanted him to know my feelings for him. Because I know, the feelings that I kept for so long in my heart will cannot be appreciated and cannot be reciprocate. However, I let myself drew a smile on my face each time I see him, he really can complete my day!!

But time goes by and it came to me that he knows my feelings already for him, from a friend who is very close to me, she said that he has an idea. "So be it", I said. I can see nothing wrong from having a crush on him. If he knew, then let it be. Tutal, wala rin naman yun kwenta kase di rin nya kayang suklian. Though at the back of my mind, I was kinda hurting na and says, here I go again, falling inlove with the wrong person, masasaktan lang naman ako.

One day in October, while I was in the office checking for my new notifications, something popped up at the left corner of my screen, at the center of the three icons of FB. I opened it without any excitement. But when I saw who it was, my heart was almost literally skip down to my stomach!! As in, it was like my heart pounded ng sabay-sabay at super akong kinabahan at na excite!!

He invited me for a "friendly date"......and the rest was history.

After that date, I can hear nothing on him again..Seems like he did not enjoy the date or I was not really his type so he stopped from there.. Did he regret that day or he was just trying to have a friendly date lang talaga. No more, no less. No expectations whatsoever!

Until now, we casually talk when we have a chance to see in awhile. Parang walang nangyari ah!

I knew now my fault and that is expecting too much from him.
I was terribly hurt from being avoided and being ignored.
I should not have wished and hope for impossible...but I am still thankful that it happened...

DJ Chic Collezione Exhibits in "GO NEGOSYO 2010"

This year, we decided to showcase the DC Chic Collezione Boutique for this year's exhibition
There are so many organizations nowadays that aim to help people especially the youth today to make their future much brighter. That is why the GoNegosyo held the first "Youth Entrepreneurship Summit" at the  World Trade Center, Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.

Entrepeneurs shared their know -how on putting up a business
Nowadays, not only men are in to business but most micro entrepreneurs in the Philippines are women. Youth in today's society has also taking part in entrepreneurship so Go Negosyo once again have invited all of  us to be part of this day of empowerment, fun and a day of learning on how to explore the business that's right for us through booths and exhibitors showcasing various products, ideas and services.

The Go Negosyo Youth Entrepreneurship Summit is a one-day forum/expo which aims to promote entrepreneurial success among all Filipinos, particularly the youth. There will be free seminars and discussions with Go Negosyo young, old entrepreneurs and mentors which is basically all about business.

Business cards and tags used during exhibition
djchiccollezione owned by our family was luckily one of the exhibitors and was highly inspired youth, especially students to start their own business. Aside from the products that we have showcased and sold to them, students got useful experiences and knowledge through seminars held during the exhibition.

We choose this booth because it is close to stage.
This is our first time joining as such. DJ Chic Collezione has a store at Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City.  It started on May 2010.  Run by the family which caters mainly apparel products. Soon after the business was established, it eventually adds accessories and various items which will compliment to displayed apparel.

At the WTC lobby, sight seeing with visitors and having a telemarketing with other exhibitors too.

Up close view to our booth.

Nice booth, isn't it, kaya maraming nag visit sa amin eh!
Since students out-numbered the visitors, DjChicCollezione was able to sell directly on a very affordable prices i.e dresses, blouses, sandos, vest, shorts and etc, so we gained so much that time.  Even it was just one day exposition, we made it.  On the other hand, Mitch was kinda disappointed at the result of her efforts in sharing booth with us because students were at some point cannot afford her class "A" bags. We both have no idea that the said event was even more about "Tagumpay ng Kabataan" so syempre puro students ang dumalo.

My sisters, mom and friend Mitch who is also a neophyte entrepreneur.
It's just lately that I realized that the "Youth Entrepreneurship Summit" is indeed purposively means to visitors, not to those young women lang na nagnenegosyo.  It goes on both sides pala hehe :). Kahit sa ate ko na manager namin was not aware thoroughly about who will be the visitors though marami din namang hindi studyante. Most of them enjoyed and kept coming back to our stall because they say, "Why, your products were so cheap."

Nevertheless, we enjoy the first experience.  Kumita man ng malake o maliit, ang mahalaga natuto kaming magnegosyo at humanap ng extra income.  We do also inspired young people to try it kahit sa maliliit na puhunan at paraan.  Kayo rin magnegosyo na!! Go with GO NEGOSYO!! Thanks po pala sa inyo!

Keep it up!

EAT ALL YOU CAN - DADS Ultimate Buffet

Kuhol for Kuya Sonny

Sweets for Sweet Tooth

With some close friends, we went to SM Megamall Bldg. A to celebrate our parent's 26th year anniversary . It cater international and continental cuisine. Over 200 dishes, among them are Kamayan's famous lechon de leche, barbecue laing, ginataang pusit, yaman dagat, bibingka and puto bumbong; while Saisaki offers its signature rolls, yakimono, temaki, ebi tempura and nagisa. Of course, one also cannot miss out on DADS' mahi mahi kebab, paella, seafood kebab, yellow fin tuna pesto, grilled swordfish and the all time favorite DADS classics.

The first time I heard about Dads, I was a bit confused kasi as per my friend, you can have choices from the three cuisine (Saisaki, Kamayan and Dads) and all of these three has its own price depending on what color of plates are you getting.  I am not sure though which of which colory is for..All I know is when I finally there eating, I was totally enjoying the food kahit puro Siomai lang kinain ko. ;) favorites!

Here it goes! Siomai family. hEhEhE.

If I am not mistaken, that time yellow plate is for Kamayan cost 500++, blue plate for Saisaki and for those who have bigger pockets in their tummy, you can choose white plate for the combination of Kamayan and Saisaki = DADS Ultimate Buffet cost 645++ so you'll enjoy the Western, Japanese and Filipino cuisine in one sitting. Drinks are not included.

Singing Lady Gaga hitsongs for my parent's anniversary!

Cooking fresh vegetables..

Just like other other eat-all- you-can resto, it does not allow left over otherwise you'd like additional charges.

An extremely abundant ultimate buffet. Last August 17, 2010, we were all in a bunch of a long buffet with a great different cuisine at Sofitel Hotel and Restaurant in Roxas Boulevard.

Gathered in one exclusive room, with two big round table.  We settled ourselves in; while having picture taking of the venue and the foods.  There were so much foods then, chefs were on their usual cooking while visitors that night were all being curious and craving with meat, seafoods, california maki, desserts and etc., and I was having my cam taking pictures of every inch of the foods and taking happy faces of my officemates with a plate full of yummy foods.

That night was so terribly a stomach full blast!!! You can try this out with a P2, 018 budget/ pax that is exclusive of Vat.
Quite expensive but you really can enjoy all the night dine buffet with the most tastiest foods you can ever imagine to taste with.

Just a piece of advise, you can eat all you want/can in here but for you to eat and try all the yummy food that they serves here, you must get only one from the chosen dish you like at your every meal and at your every turn!!
