Life is the sum of experiences that we encounter as go through life. Day to day to struggles and triumphs are experienced by all of the world's creatures. As human beings, when we encounter a challenge, we have freedom to choose how to react. Every decision that we make leads us down another road. We will never come to exactly the same crossroads. Every decision the we make has significance. The tiniest choice that is made reverberates throughout the entire universe.

DAY 2 Explore Pagudpod l Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

Our  Ilocos itinerary clearly stated a spontaneous rode trip from Vigan, Laoag and now, Pagudpod in Ilocos Norte. Meaning, WALANG LIGUAN ang day 1.

Kung baga sa puno, ang DAY 1 namin ay hitik na hitik, hindi lang sa bunga kundi pati na rin sa adventure, usok at alikabok! At finally, after such blast whole day, makakaligo na rin ako. Yun nga lang we need to drive 2 more hours pa from Laoag to PAGUDPOD :p

We stayed in one of the famous house/s for rent near Saud Beach in Ilocos Norte. The two-storey house is made of wood and pawid (palm tree). The house for rent is very famous in Ilocos even you come in solo or in group.

We reached Pagudpod past 8 in the evening. First thing on the list, to take a soulful bath! AMEN!
Before we drove to Pagudpod, we already ate dinner at the Chicken Ati-Atihan, located at 13 Segundo Ave., Laoag City. I recommend this place perfect for sharing kasi ang laki talaga ng serving nila dito. Nagulat pa ang iba samin kasi akala nila onti lang pero when the food has been served, it's really for sharing pala. The price is affordable too!

FIRST STOP: CAPE BOJEADOR
We've got two days to spare, so we waste no time getting started of our first day in Pagudpod

Kaso as early as 5AM (group's call time), malakas na pala ang ulan sa labas and our supposedly first stop, Kabigan Falls has postponed in the afternoon. Despite of heavy rain that morning, we tried our luck to fulfill the lined up itinerary so we drove along Patapat Viaduct Bridge but seems the rain poured harder that time.

Thank God, the sun showed up at last as we drove back and decided to go instead at CAPE BOJEADOR.

Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, also known as Burgos Lighthouse, is a cultural heritage structure in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, that was established during the Spanish Colonial period in the Philippines. It was first lit on March 30, 1892 and is set high on Vigia de Nagparitan Hill overlooking the scenic Cape Bojeador where early galleons used to sail by. After over 100 years, it still functions as a welcoming beacon to the international ships that enter the Philippine Archipelago from the north and guide them safely away from the rocky coast of the town.

First stop, picture muna pagbaba ng service van
With excited feet, we all saunter toward the famous lighthouse in Ilocos.
This is my very first time to see a lighthouse. Sa TV ko lang kasi to nakikita.  Wish granted baby!

From where we stand below the towering lighthouse, we can say that it has been used for such a very long time.....

Collage of HAPPINESS

My sisters, palakihan ng hita nalang oh! hehehe
The 65-foot-tall (20 m) octagonal stone tower, the most prominent structure in the vicinity, can be seen from as far away as Pasuquin town in the south and Bangui on the east on a clear day. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the highest-elevated or tallest lighthouse in the Philippines. Corregidor Lighthouse is higher at over 600 feet and among the Spanish Colonial lighthouses, the tower of Cape Melville Lighthouse is the tallest at 90 feet. In Mindoro Strait, the recently erected modern tower at the Apo Reef Light Station rises to a height of 110 feet.

We arrived at the lighthouse before 10AM. There were many tourists who flocked already at Vigia de Nagparitan Hill, where the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse is located. You can see also alot of vendors along the street.. Sa sobrang inet, mapapabili ka talaga ng inumin especially pag bumaba ka na from the tower, you need to recharge and some liquid.

To get to the lighthouse, one must step up to the stoned stairs. It was bit tiring but when you see the view deck, OH, Awesomeness!

You'll be surprise of what to see at the deck. It not only gives you a great view of South China Sea but also the surrounding neighborhood.

The sun is scorching hot, pero hindi kami papaawat ng ganun ganun lang! Kaya, kampay!!!

Climbing the terrace of the first building, you will pass by a short dark corridor to get to the foot of the stairs leading to the tower.

At this point, you will be asked to pay just a little fee for the maintenance of the said lighthouse. There were also some souvenirs along the dark hallway that you can buy.

Ay bigla may nag emote...

Cape Bojeador is a must see historical landmark in Ilocos so make sure when you go up North, you wouldn't miss this out.

Note: I am now suffering from severe itchiness all over my body due to german measles. Kaya ito lang muna kaya ko i post.. Kati talaga, pero habang binabasa niyo to hindi naman kayo mai infect right? till then............
